OpenClaw Update Enhances WeChat and Enterprise WeChat Functionality, Adds New Integrations

A recent update to OpenClaw has significantly expanded its capabilities for both WeChat and Enterprise WeChat, introducing new features and integrations. The update initially caused a temporary disruption for WeChat users but has since been resolved.

The issue with WeChat ClawBot, which went offline after the update, was addressed by rerunning a specific command in the terminal: npx -y @tencent-weixin/openclaw-weixin-cli install. This command restored functionality and extended its use to desktop computers. The disruption was attributed to a major version update that altered previous plugin entry points.

Expanded Features and Integrations

The latest OpenClaw update introduced plugins for Feishu, Matrix, QQ bot, and Enterprise WeChat. The updated WeChat plugin now supports sending pictures, videos, files, and voice messages, enabling basic reminder and notification functions.

Enterprise WeChat, in particular, received substantial enhancements. Out of over 30 OpenClaw variants, Enterprise WeChat now supports 16, allowing users to create group chats, schedule meetings, manage to-do lists, read contacts for mass messaging, and collaborate on documents and spreadsheets. This expanded functionality is currently available to enterprises with fewer than ten people, suggesting a phased rollout of permissions.

To integrate OpenClaw with Enterprise WeChat, users can run the command npx -y @wecom/wecom-openclaw-cli install --force. This command will not conflict with existing WeChat plugins and can be rerun to switch between enterprise configurations.

While neither the Enterprise WeChat nor WeChat plugins currently support reading official account or video account links, Enterprise WeChat does support Markdown formatting, making output links clickable.

Enhanced Online Search and Skill Integration

The update also emphasizes maximizing OpenClaw's online search capabilities. Previous enhancements included integrating 12 information search skills such as Tavily, Multi Search Engine, x-reader, Agent Reach, BrowserWing, ModSearch, and Gemini Deep Research. New skills have been introduced to cover areas previously unaddressed, including specific skills for Enterprise WeChat and official accounts: clawhub.ai/imwyvern/wechat-reader and clawhub.ai/chongjie-ran/wecom-file-sender.

Compatibility comparisons using GPT5.4 indicated some overlapping functionalities among various tools like Agent-reach, Opencli, bb-browser, and web-access. Testing focused on reading, searching, and structured extraction from articles, graphic posts, and video pages, assessing completeness, structure (title, author, publication time, main text, links), and adaptability to login status.

Agent-reach demonstrated 100% success in testing. Opencli was also effective, reusing login status for platforms like Xiaohongshu and extracting video subtitles. The bb-browser was noted as incompatible with the latest OpenClaw version. Web-access, developed by Yize, successfully accessed all four tested platforms (official accounts, Xiaohongshu, GitHub, and video pages), providing content closely resembling standard browsing.

Configuration difficulty varied, with Agent-reach being more complex than web-access and Opencli. The latter two required either an additional plugin installation or Chrome configuration adjustments.

The enhanced Enterprise WeChat OpenClaw configuration now offers a comprehensive suite of tools for group chats, private messaging via contact lists, local file sharing, and information retrieval from multiple platforms. This information can be integrated into spreadsheets and documents, supporting meeting scheduling, to-do lists, and daily task management.
