Coze 2.0 Update Simplifies AI Skill Creation and Introduces Long-Term Planning

Coze has released version 2.0, introducing two key features designed to make AI skill development more accessible and enhance user productivity: Skills and Long-term Plans. The update also includes a refreshed logo for the platform.
Enhanced Accessibility for AI Skills
The update addresses a significant barrier to entry for AI skills, which have gained considerable attention in the AI community. While many existing tools for skill integration, such as OpenCode, CodeX, and Antigravity, primarily cater to developers through command-line interfaces (CLI) or integrated development environments (IDE), Coze 2.0 aims to democratize skill creation and usage for a broader audience.

Coze, an agent-based product, now natively supports skills. Users can access pre-built skills for tasks like writing, presentation creation, design, and video editing directly within the platform by typing "@" in the chat interface. Beyond official offerings, users can also leverage skills shared by others.
A core focus of the update is enabling users to "skill-ify" their own workflows. The platform facilitates this through a low-code approach. Users can create new skills by navigating to the "Create Skill" option in the store.
Verbal Skill Development and Open-Source Integration
Coze 2.0 introduces a "verbal" skill development method, allowing users to describe the desired functionality in natural language. For instance, a user can instruct Coze to package an open-source tool like FFmpeg into a skill for video processing. By providing the GitHub link and a description of the intended use, Coze automatically reads the repository and builds the skill. This process can convert videos to GIFs, change formats, or modify resolutions.

The platform also supports combining multiple open-source projects into a single skill. For example, FFmpeg for video processing and ImageMagick for image manipulation can be integrated into one comprehensive skill. This allows for automated, multi-step tasks, such as generating a GIF from a video, resizing it, and adding a watermark. Once created, these skills can be deployed and shared with other users through the Coze Skill Store.
For professional users or those with existing skills developed using other platforms, Coze 2.0 offers an upload feature. Users can package their skill folders into a .zip or .skill file, which Coze then processes to create a new skill within the platform.
One current limitation noted is that Coze 2.0 skills can only be used individually and cannot yet be combined or chained together.
Introduction of Long-Term Plans
Another significant addition in Coze 2.0 is the Long-term Plan feature. This allows users to set a specific goal for the AI, which then breaks down the objective into actionable steps. For example, a user can request a long-term health plan, and Coze will generate an annual execution path and a weekly trial plan based on the user's current situation. The system can also integrate these plans into a schedule and provide daily reminders.

However, the notification system for Long-term Plans currently requires the Coze webpage to be open. Mobile app notifications are not yet supported, which could limit the feature's effectiveness for users who do not keep the web interface active.
